Principal's Welcome

Dear Stratfield Families,

I am excited to welcome you all to the 25-26 school year!  Whether you are a returning family, or new to Stratfield School, the staff and I can’t wait to welcome you all on August 26th.  All families are also invited to attend our Meet and Greet on August 25th to officially kick-off the new school year.  I will be sending out a back- to- school memo within the next week that will detail important information on the start of school.

At Stratfield School, the staff strive to connect with each and every student and their family. We look for opportunities to showcase student accomplishments while supporting the development of student growth mindsets.

We will continue to focus on building student literacy using the HMH Program materials with the new literacy curriculum as the foundation of our instruction.  We will focus on building literacy skills of all students by providing small group instruction to move students along the literacy continuum while challenging and extending their thinking.  We will also continue to focus on building math fluency and automaticity in all grades, while engaging students in purposeful struggle to solve complex problems. In the area of social and emotional learning, we will continue to build each student's sense of community through the use of restorative practices and responsive classroom strategies all while improving student attendance K-5.

We are excited about the year ahead as well as partnering with our Stratfield families to achieve these goals! We thank you for your continued support and collaboration in making Stratfield the very best! Here’s to a great year ahead!

Respectfully,

Liz McGoey
Principal
Stratfield School
